Scorpion Oceanics are the UK Agents for Cortland Cable Company of
Cortland, New York,
USA. Cortland are specialists in the
manufacture of electro/mechanical and opto/mechanical cables.
Multi-conductor cables with strength members and optional 1, 2 or
4 sided hair-fairing (for the reduction of cable strumming), can
be supplied with purpose designed strain terminations, to suit
customer and application requirements e.g. tow cables, mooring
cables, dunking cables etc. Fish bite resistant cables have also
been developed.
Cortland manufacture ‘HiWire’® which is an engineered insulated
electrical conductor that provides exceptional axial and radial
compliance for applications that subject the cable to severe
dynamic stress. Steel wire armoured cables, umbilicals and other
project specified cables can be supplied.
Scorpion Oceanics stock a number of
popular underwater cables suitable for video, hydrophones,
instrumentation and power etc. We also offer a cable repair and
re-termination service, in-house or on-site. We are experienced in
