Scorpion Oceanics Limited was formed in 1996 to provide the
Underwater and Nuclear Industries with an efficient, competitive
and reliable source of cables, connectors, hydrophones, ropes,
terminations and mouldings for use in harsh environments.
The company’s operations are based on five main activities;

Termination and polyethylene or polyurethane overmoulding of
cables and connectors,

Supply of
cables and high modulus fibre ropes as agents for Cortland Cable
Company Inc. of Cortland, USA and Puget Sound Rope Inc. of
Anacortes, USA,

Supply of
metal shelled, glass reinforced epoxy and rubber moulded
underwater electrical connectors as agents on behalf of Birns
Inc, Oxnard, USA.

Supply of
Underwater and Nuclear Electrical Connectors for Souriau
Connection Technology (formerly Jupiter and Souriau).

Supply of Hydrophones and Marine
Sensor Systems on behalf of High Tech Inc, Gulfport, Mississippi,
USA.

Much of
the termination work undertaken involves the use of
polyethylene and polyurethane for overmoulding and
encapsulation. The Company employs several types of
polyurethane castomer systems, each one being chosen according
to the type of substrate, application and location. Skilled
termination technicians are available to undertake work
in-house, on-site or offshore. Scorpion Oceanics operates CAD
facilities for the design of connectors including fibre optics
and termination systems.
With over 100 years combined experience in these industries, we
know what customers expect and it has always been our policy to
provide products and services that delight. Scorpion Oceanics
operates a quality system accredited to BS EN ISO 9001: 2000,
Certificate No. 1820. This company is listed on the UK MOD’s Item
of Supply and Information System (ISIS), NCAGE code KB756. All
design and manufacturing is carried out at the company’s facility
in North West Essex, which is adjacent to the M11 Motorway,
between Cambridge and London Stansted Airport
The company already has an enviable reputation amongst its
existing customers and welcomes enquiries from new customers.
Plans are in hand to develop further the scope of operations and
processes currently undertaken, including enhanced hydrostatic
pressure testing facilities. All our staff are qualified, highly
motivated, and keen to help you. The company is extremely flexible
and able to work closely with customers to solve their cable,
connector, rope and termination problems. |
