Cable Grips

Scorpion Oceanics supply a range of Cable Grips manufactured by Cortland Cable Company, from Kevlar, Technora or Vectran in a flat braid form. These grips can be used as permanent or temporary attachment points on all types of cable or rope, either mid-length or at the ends. The grips are available in a wide range of sizes and lengths and can be tailored to suit customer’s particular requirements. The chart details the range of breaking strengths available as standard. Simply plait the tails in pairs around the cable and attach at the reinforced eye. Cable Grips are extremely versatile, flexible, reusable and non-metallic. No specialised tools are required to fit Scorpion Cable Grips. Please specify umbilical or rope diameter when ordering for the appropriate tail length to be supplied*. This is especially important in the case of large diameter umbilicals where tail lengths will be longer than those specified. All Cable Grips are supplied complete with either a removable galvanised steel thimble or double reinforced soft eye unless specified otherwise.
