The
geophysical industry has utilised High Tech, Inc. hydrophones and
systems as a cost effective and versatile means of performing
deep-water geophysical surveys. High Tech, Inc. down-hole
hydrophones are used by the oil industry for re-survey and
exploration applications.
In association with marine fisheries organisations High Tech, Inc.
has developed transducers both for marine organism monitoring and
as enforcement devices.
A range of catalogue based products is available but more often
these are only used as a basis for customer’s specific
requirements.
A recent development from High Tech, Inc. is their DTAGS, Deep
Water Acoustic Source, which bridges the gap between high
resolution side scan sonar and surface-tow seismic systems. High
Tech have developed a new Remote Acoustic Measurement Buoy System.
It is particularly useful for the study of gas hydrate
distribution and characterisation, including methane hydrate.
